A pretty wedding was solemnised in St. George's Church, Carr's Creek, on Wednesday, September 26, the Rev. Harold Woodger, Vicar of Ulmarra, officiating. The contracting parties were William Newton, eldest son of Mr. John Newton Short, of Ulmarra, and Elizabeth Marion, daughter of the late Charles Leonard Fordham, of Rockford, England, recently one of the nursing staff of the Grafton District Hospital. The bride, who was charmingly dressed in white cashmere de soie and georgette, with the usual wreath and veil, entered the church, which was well filled with guests, on the arm of Mr. A. C. Bultitude, who gave her away, to the strain of "The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden." She was accompanied by her sister Lily, who, tastefully attired in pale pink georgette, acted as bridesmaid. Miss Maxwell, of the Grafton Hospital, presided at the organ and played the
