SHORT House, White Rock, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA

This is the house that use to stand opposite the Wesleyan Church in White Rock. Walter and Elizabeth SHORT resided in this house until Walter went bankrupt in 1849. Although Walter and Elizabeth never owned the home, the contents were valued along with their property at Perthville in the insolvancy case. After the hearing, Walter and Elizabeth moved into Bathurst to run a shop for several years. Members of the SHORT, GUNNING and DOVEY families continued to stay in this house until well after 1920. The house is reported to have been demolished in the late 1960's.
