SHORT House at White Rock This photo was taken about 1920 at White Rock, New South Wales, AUSTRALIA. It shows the house that Walter SHORT and Elizabeth SPICER occupied until 1849 with their family.

This house use to stand opposite the Wesleyan Church in White Rock. Walter and Elizabeth SHORT resided in this house until Walter went bankrupt in 1849. Although Walter and Elizabeth never owned the home, the contents were valued along with their property at Perthville in the insolvancy case. After the hearing, Walter and Elizabeth moved into Bathurst to run a shop for several years.

Members of the SHORT, GUNNING and DOVEY families continued to stay in this house until well after 1920. The house is reported to have been demolished in the late 1960's.

Back Row: Mary Jane (aka Jennie) DOVEY (nee SHORT), Margaret Amelia (aka Mill) GUNNING (nee SHORT)

Front Row: Ivy May DOVEY (later ALEXANDER), Alice Mary (aka Allie) GUNNING (later GRIEG)
